Ursa Major was founded to address a critical shortfall in the U.S. industrial base and bring a new model to aerospace and defense systems: we design and manufacture the world’s leading propulsion systems for space, hypersonic applications, and missile systems.

Our products and technologies require an extraordinary team – a team that will mold tomorrow’s technologies while deploying today’s best. We are an intrinsically motivated team that has a passion for solving problems and empowering each other every day to develop our skills, knowing that there is always room for growth.

The Ursa Major Director of Quality manages and crafts the vision for four major responsibilities: inspection, calibration, quality system management and quality engineering.

  • Inspection plays a critical role in receiving inspection and in-process verification. We utilize world-class equipment and processes to inspect a wide variety of characteristics.

  • AS9100D is a holistic approach supported across the organization and built into the mindset of process and system definition. The Director of Quality is the AS9100D specified management representative and is responsible for sustaining and coordinating the framework.

This role will work closely with supply chain, engineering teams, production, and business development. Driving a collaborative, flexible approach to quality while maintaining rigorous adherence to customer requirements and certification requirements will be critical.
