Success in this role requires a safety-first approach, a willingness and desire to learn and an attention to detail mindset. As a part of the operations team, you will be a key component of the energetics manufacturing process. You will be responsible for the production and transportation/storage of energetic materials.

As a front line employee, you will have vital input on process integration and continuous improvement efforts. Ability to provide engineers and other operations team members with valuable feedback will allow for quick scalability and growth

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Full scale propellant mixing – Prepares materials and performs full-scale mixing for all production programs, confirming acceptable weights prior to releasing the materials to casting operations. The operator will also perform full-scale mixes for new programs/new formulations as they are introduced to the site. The operator is responsible for requisitioning and organizing the materials and processing required for the mix, as well as cleaning and maintaining full scale mix equipment. Operator will perform these duties under the general direction of engineer and the area supervisor, using established, well-defined methods and calculations.
  • Mathematical – Perform mathematical calculations, such as, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, to create acceptable mixes for casting, and use process data to fill out manufacturing data sheets. These calculations are performed using well-defined methods.
  • Milling – The operator will assemble mills and mill materials for full-scale propellant mixes and weigh material bins to correct weight for propellant mixing. operator is responsible for disassembly, cleaning, and re-assembly of full-scale grinding equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned - Such as but not limited to: AP prep for grinding, bowl plugging for mixing Prototype motor casting, development sample preparation, and support of new production initiatives and schedules.
  • Willing and available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet production schedules.
  • Able to work from elevated platforms, ascend ladders, and transport 35 lbs. repetitively.
  • Medically cleared to wear a respirator and operate powered industrial vehicle (and obtain company issued license as appropriate).

 

Required Qualifications

  • A safety-oriented mindset with a high focus on quality and production processes
  • Attention to detail and situational awareness
  • Able to lift 50lbs without assistance
  • Basic computer skills and ability to communicate using multiple electronic platforms
  • Demonstrates compliance with standard operating procedures and job specific directions
  • Ability to get and maintain a CDLE Type I explosives permit (employer sponsored)
  • Reliable and regular attendance

Desired Qualifications

  • Willing and available to work other shifts and overtime to meet production schedules
  • Self-starter with a desire to improve and work across a team environment
  • Energetics/hazardous chemicals (beyond standard cleaners) experience
  • Run automated equipment in a highly controlled environment

 

 

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $23.56 - $29.33/hour, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we are evaluating individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs. Classification: Full-time Non-Exempt.
